Concrete Tile Roof Restorations

Inspection

RM Roofing understands the importance of quality workmanship and the materials necessary to go with it, which is why we use Dulux - Acratex Roof Membrane; offering the longest factory guarantees.

Upon meeting a thorough inspection is carried out to identify what is required, doing our best to ensure there are no hidden surprises upon commencement.

It is very important to inform us of any leaks or odd ceiling stains, often leaks can be caused by many issues besides blocked valleys, broken tiles or deteriorated ridge pointing. Often old tile clips or faulty tile batches can cause issues that sealing and painting will not repair.

Preparation, Seals & Repairs, Recoating

Step 1: High Pressure Cleaning;

  • Firstly the surface of each tile will be pressure washed, this is necessary to remove dirt, mould and any loose pointing.

Step 2: Sealing of flashings/protrusions;

  • Due to ultraviolet radiation from the sun flashings and seals around roof protrusions can deteriorate, these areas will be resealed.

Step 3: Tile Replacement, Valley Maintenance & Ridge Pointing;

  • Broken tiles are replaced and depending on the condition of the ridge capping all capping is either rebedded, repointed or if in good condition patched as necessary.

  • Valleys are also an often overlooked aspect of a roof restoration, debris build up beneath the tiles can cause leaks during heavy rainfall, if necessary tiles are removed and debris cleaned out, optionally Valley Seal can also be installed.

Step 4: Recoating/Spray Painting;

  • For the last stage solar panels and hot water systems are covered prior to spraying.

  • One coat of high quality sealer and two coats of high gloss roof membrane are applied for a total of 3 coats using alternating spray patterns between coats to ensure an even coating is applied across the entire roof.

  • If requested a premium fourth Clear-Glaze coating is applied to increase the gloss retention and colour longevity of your roof.
